Sunday Photoshoot

My husband is a  very talented  photographer and today we had a photo shoot with a gorgeous 4 legged model, yep it was a dog, It was a beautiful 18 month old husky.  The owner of the husky runs a dog training school and wanted some pics for his website. I went along to assist with the shoot, holding bags, lights etc.   The husky  named Summer was an absolute star, might even post a pic of her tomorrow.

So today's food..

Missed breakfast -  Yep the most essential meal of the day but i really was not hungry.

Lunch: mixed salad, tomatoes, corn beef, Ham  (didn't eat the little bit of fat that was on it) and pastrami and Tesco BBQ chicken thighs (skin not eaten) A very tasty RED DAY  lunch.

Dinner: Dry roast pork fillet, 198g of new potatoes, broccoli, carrots and cabbage with a splash of gravy.  I would have normally put butter on my potatoes but the thought of eating butter makes me heave.

Drinks: large glass of sparkling water, 3 cups of tea with a splash of milk, 2 cups of green tea.
Fruit: Apple, banana, satsuma and a peach

full up!

Today has been a good day, the sun was shining, the sky was blue.. ha sounds like a song coming on..
We have two black Labrador's and so we took them for a nice walk, we were only out for 1.5hrs but the dogs loved it,  we loved it.   We walked across the open fields and through the  woods, It was so nice to hear the leaves on the trees rustle in the breeze.  Goodness me, I sound like my mother, must be getting old.

So today's food.

Breakfast:  Didn't have breakfast, was not hungry and could not be bothered.

Lunch: 2 rashers of really thin bacon, field mushrooms, baked beans, tinned toms and an omlette, So much food.

Dinner: Just me again tonight, Alan was at another Footstomper gig, so I had 3 Linda McCartney's vege sausages, beans, tinned toms and an Omlette laced with fried onion.

Drinks:  3 large glasses of NAS squash, 5 cups of tea, 2 cups of green tea and 2 cups of coffee with powdered milk.

I've also eaten a Muller lite Yoghurt, kiwi fruit, banana, peach and an apple.

I am feeling full and satisfied right now so I'm a happy bunny.

Friday already

Today has been a busy house cleaning day, not lots of fun but it feels nice and tidy now.
I was contemplating going for a run, but I really could not be bothered.  I know that's lazy of me and perhaps I could have gone for a quick run but I'm just a little  OCD, if I'm going for a run then it's 7.5 miles or nothing..!!

So today's food

Breakfast.. The same as always

Lunch: Batchelors Rice, courgettes, green pepper, mushrooms, capers and a little bit of sun dried tomato. Oh and I cooked some SW Sweet potato crisps, they don't taste as good as white potato so i cooked some of those too.

Drinks: 4 cups of tea with a splash of skimmed milk, 2 cups of cranberry green tea, 1 cup of coffee with powdered milk, .0.5ltrs of sparkling water.

Dinner:  Well that was rather boring but, It was just me for dinner today as Alan is away on a Footstomper gig.  So I had Quorn chicken pieces with Stir fry Veg, followed by an ice lolly (homemade) made with orange juice.

Thursday already

So here we are again already, it's Thursday which can only mean  no more work until Monday .. yayyy.   In April my husband and I applied to enter the London Marthon, today we found out that we were not successful - I'm a little disappointed but to be honest,  I'm not sure that I would have had the stamina to complete the 26.2 miles run..

We have both been really good on our diet this week so, I am hoping for a better weight loss on Tuesday, keeping my fingers crossed..

Today's food:

Breakfast: Fruit, Muller light yoghurt with a sprinkle of Jordans original muesli.

Lunch: Rice with courgette, pepper, red onions  and capers and a sneaky babybel.

Drinks: 3 Cups of tea, 1 cup of coffee and 1 ltr of flavoured water

Dinner:  113g of chicken (breast meat) brocolli and slimming world chips.

Monday Morning feeling

Here we are again Monday already.  Well my day started with a 7.5 mile run, my god it was so difficult.  I struggled with achy legs, breathing and general tiredness.  So although i was out there doing it, it was not good, i didn't enjoy it one iota.

So todays plan went like this

Breakfast :  Alpen light and a banana
Excercise:  7.5 miles 545 calories burnt
Lunch: Couscous salad
Dinner: Spanish Omlette with tomatoes, cucumber and beetroot and left over Couscous -  followed by a Muller Lite Yoghurt.

Drinks: 3 cups of tea with a splash of skimmed milk
1 bottle diet pepsi
2 glasses of flavoured water
1 coffee
I have not had enough to drink at all, didn't have time at work today as was to busy and we don't have the luxury of tea breaks.

No Pics today and there was not enough time :-(

Relaxing Sunday

Today we are back on track with our healthy eating -  It's been really hard today I have been craving crisps and sweets and and and and, oh ice cream, all the naughty things.  I have actually been really good and have not faltered in the slightest..

We popped to Howletts Zoo this afternoon, we have  'passporst' which means you pay once but visit as many times as you like at no extra cost.  This is a fantastic idea as we only live 10 minutes away from the zoo.  We have been a few time now and we are getting to know the animals.

So today's food was:

Breakfast:  erm, didn't have breakfast as i was not at all hungry, blaming that on the amount of chinese I ate the night before.

Lunch: A small bowl of Mexican rice

I've been snacking on fruit today,  so far i have eaten  2 bananas, peach, kiwi fruit and an apple.
I have also had a muller light yoghurt

Dinner  on a Sunday is usually a roast dinner but as there were only two of us and we didn't get back from the zoo until around 5, we had the following, Egg fried in fry light, baked beans (not many beans as I don't really like them) slimming world chips.. This is one of my fave dinners apart from the beans that is..lol,

Pear Shaped!

Today my diet went 'Pear shaped' We were  treated to Chinese buffet ( thank you very much Gerald xx)  and looking at the syn Value for Chinese food meant I  failed  miserably but hey  life's about living not just dieting.. So I was  good throughout the day and really enjoyed my Chinese buffet this evening.

Breakfast:  Muller light with banana and a sprinkling of Alpen.
Lunch - Spicy parsnip soup with 2 ryvita's
Snack - 2 ryvitas with phili light

I have found that following this healthier eating regime that we are eating loads of fruit and veg, here is a pic of our  overflowing fruit bowl.

My son visited over the weekend, I  promised him that next time he was home that I would make him a  cheesecake, well here it is, A Nutella cheesecake as promised, I did have the tiniest slither to see how it tasted and am happy to say that is tasted pretty damn good..

The last picture of the day is my stained table cloth, this was the remains of my chicken satay, a smudge of sauce that I spilt on the white table cloth.. ooops I'm a messy pup.
I did  eat well tonight, totally blew the diet / healthy eating.. Started off with crispy duck along with some chicken satay, followed by King prawns and pepper, chicken chow mien, some crispy beef and a  taste of sweet and sour chicken, special fried rice and some wine.. I was really hungry and really really enjoyed every mouthful.

Decisions Decisions

I think the hardest thing for me is deciding which route I'm going to follow, Red or Green day. Whatever day you choose, you have to plan what you are going to eat for the day which helps you stick to it.  Breakfast is easy,  I have my fruit and yoghurt as a rule so that's simple. As the weather gets colder i will perhaps start having porridge and fruit.
I do feel that i am such a lucky person as I have my husband supporting me by healthy eating with me.  He is the chef of this household, he's  the  better cook by far.  We discuss what we are eating for the day and he cooks it for us.
Today is has been decided will be a Red day as we have a pork fillet in the fridge that needs eating.

So today:

Exercise: 7 1/2 mile run - 645 calories burnt

Breakfast - Fruit and Muller lite yoghurt

Lunch:
3 Egg ham omlette

Drinks:  2 cups of tea with a splash of skimmed milk (milk, healthy extra or syn - i don't know so i don't count it, it's really only a splash as i drink my tea strong!) water whilst running, 2 cups of green tea. 5 glasses of squash.

Dinner: really lean Port fillet, corn on the cob, mushrooms cooked with chilli and garlic, 1 jacket potato - not added oil or butter.. delish!! Picture is my sons dinner, he added coleslaw and butter to his potato..  Loads more Pork on our plates yum yum yum :-)

Green Day

So far this healthy eating malarkey is pretty easy,  we are not feeling hungry, energy levels are good - I have been craving sweet stuff but when this happens i just have a Muller light yoghurt (because i can) and the craving passes.

On the menu today is:

Breakfast - Fruit, Yoghurt and 25g of Alpen  (healthy extra)

Lunch - Salad with boiled egg and new potatoes - All free

Drinks - 3 cups of Tea, 1 coffee and one Cranberry and green tea., 3 large glasses of no added sugar strawberry and kiwi Robinsons barley

Snacks
- Slimming world crisps - free and so tasty
To make the crisps you will need 2 potatoes, fry light and a microwave - spray a plate with fry light, slice potatoes potato paper thin, put  1 layer on a plate, spray the potato with fry light, sprinkle with salt and microwave for about 6 mins on a 850w oven until golden brown - repeat process -  The hardest thing about doing this is not eating the crisps whilst waiting for the rest to cook..

Dinner - Spaghetti bolognese made with extra lean mince beef (85g healthy extra) courgette, onion, tinned tomatoes, orange pepper,  basil, stock cube, tomato puree - served with wholemeal spaghetti (free)

Monday, 16 September 2013

I've called my blog  'Monday's diet'  as my diets / healthy eating regimes always start on a Monday and my husband always laughs at this.

My husband and I aim to eat healthy and lose weight, ( target for me is 1 stone by December).  We are  going to try and  follow the principles of the Slimming World diet, having never been to a meeting so we are only going on info that has been given to us.  So if you are a Slimming world expert and can see obvious errors in the way we are doing this, then please feel free to let us know
