Thursday is my Friday

Thursday is my Friday as I do not work Friday's or weekends, I could really do with a full time job but, there aren't many of those about especially where I live :-(
So what will I be up to this weekend.  Well not a lot.. Housework, washing and ironing mainly.. I know, it's boring isn't it but, if the weather is rubbish it's fine by me.
If the weather is nice however, I would really like to visit the zoo, we will have to see how it goes.

Food today:

Breakfast: Fruit and yoghurt
Lunch:  Roast Parsnip soup with 2  Ryvita's followed by a yoghurt and a Pomegranate.

Dinner: well we basically had left overs, so left over bolognese, with salad and a jacket potato and a little bit of coleslaw:

Keep on running!

Today we went for our run (hubby & me) , it was the first run in nearly two weeks.  It was sunny and warm, Autumn leaves lay on the ground (avoided those in case of dog poo) I really felt good.  We ran  7.5 miles and it took us 1.26mins, which I was quite pleased with.

I do find it really annoying though when people ask you if you have been running and you say 'yeah, 7.5 miles today' and they continue to tell you about the 3 miles they walked or how they jogged for a  minute then walked for 5 etc, etc. .. Is it a jealousy thing or what?? Well, whatever it is, it would be nice if someone actually said well done, or if they are not interested, don't ask!! Moan over.

Food today then:

Breakfast: Fruit and Yoghurt.

Lunch: Rice, boiled eggs and a sliced tomatoe

Dinner was so good.  We had potato wedges, a small amount of chicken which was marinaded in Nando's marinade, corn on the cob and a side of salad.

Tuesday weigh in

This morning I weighed myself and it showed a loss 2.5 lbs loss then, I moved my digital scales to level flooring and the true outcome was 'zilch' no loss at all.  I would have like to have lost a pound or 2 but , I have not been very well behaved so no loss and no gain is ok by me..

I have not taken any pics today but my food as follows:

Breakfast.. Same as usual
Lunch: minestrone soup
Dinner: Spaghetti Bolognese with  a few slices of Foccacia

Snacks;  Yoghurt and lots of fruit.  Oh and some black Jacks.. Love Black Jacks and could not resist.

Good weekend

Oh my, isn't it difficult to keep on posting things on your own blog??

Well the weekend has been and gone.. what did I get up to, well to  be honest, not a lot.  I spent most of Saturday daytime ironing, I put American Horror stories on tv  and away I went.  Loads or ironing done, and many an episode of American Horror Stories watched.

Food for Saturday:
Usual Breakfast
Lunch was a mug shot
Dinner - slow cooked Spanish chicken
A few Stackers (Aldi's version of Pringles)

Sunday was a great day, my husband had a photoshoot  booked and Hannah (my daughter) her boyfriend Dean and I all went along to help.

Example Picture: This has been copied from http://www.alanlangleyphoto.co.uk/fashion#2 have a look to see more examples of my wonderful husbands photography :-)

\
Because the shoot finished late and we had not thought about what to have for dinner,so  we had a Chinese take out.. Oh my god, it was amazing, we have not had Chinese for a while, (Indian take out is our usual choice) and can say we really enjoyed it.

So Today's food, no pictures again..

Fruit and Fibre cereals for breakfast
Lunch: scrambles eggs, tinned toms and mushrooms
Dinner: Homemade ministrone soup with a small slice of focaccia

I am actually dreading the weigh in tomorrow as I'm sure i will have gained a couple of pound or so :-(

Friday

I didn't blog at all yesterday, didn't feel like it to be honest.  I had the usual for breakfast, Lunch was a prawn salad and dinner was Amazing, only wished I'd taken a pic to share my dinner lovliness but, I didn't want it to get cold and I needed to eat it.  It was a roast dinner with pork, veg and jacket spud.

I had a new shopping experience today, I shopped at Aldi.   I normally avoid the place as it's full of locals and to be honest they are not that pleasant,  we bit the bullet and went for it.  I had the hugest trolley full of food, loads of fruit and veg, some chicken thighs, minced turkey, a few frozen items, drinks etc.  and spent £71.00.  The amount I bought had i shopped in Tesco you would have easily of spent £120 - £130.00, so I have saved myself a small fortune.  I will still need to pop Tesco or some other supermarket  for things like 1 cal spray as I didn't see that in there and some toothpaste, but that is all i need.  On this healthy eating plan, you don't need to shop at expensive supermarkets, you can get your fruit at places such as Aldi and save a fortune.

On the downside of this week, I have not exercised at all.  I decided not to hoop last night and well the weather has been to rubbish to going running in.  Best I get my hoop out and have a session later.

This weekend is going to be another rubbish boring one.  Alan has Footstompers on Saturday so he will be home late and on Sunday he has a fashion  photo shoot at Drop Ridout in Dover.  I am helping on the shoot, well I say I am helping, I just hold the light stand!

Grrr I am so peed off right now.  I ordered a dress from Next and thought that I really could not afford it so returned it.   Anyway to cut a long story short, I have just tried to re-order  and it's sold out, I can't get it anywhere,  I am so stupid!!!!!!!!

So today's food.
Usual Breakfast
Omlette for Lunch
Dinner was homemade Turkey burger with a slice of bacon, slimming world chips and peas.

No pics :-(

Grumpiness

I don't know why i'm grumpy, could it be because I have not been running this week, could it be a  hormone imbalance, could it just be me.. Who know's but, I am grumpy and the tiniest of things are really making me mad right now.  argggggghhhh!!

Food:

Breakfast.
  Yep fruit and chuffing yoghurt

Lunch: bloomin rice, boiled eggs and tomatoes.

Dinner: Tasty Mussels with Chilli, coriander  and lime along with Slimming world chips.  Would have preferred a huge hunk of freshly baked crusty warm bread.. But no... slimming world freakin' chips.

Mmm, I'm guessing at 47 years of age, it's hormones.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Weigh Day

I have lost 1lb this week, now weighing in at 10stone exactly.  So I started this blog when I was 10stone  4lbs however, when I started healthy eating  I was 10 stone 8lbs.  So although the loss has been slow, it's been ok,   Although I really fancy Doritos and dip right now :-)
I do have a confession, I have not been totally honest with my drinks.   I have a couple of glasses (or maybe more) of red wine a night.  I don't have any other treats or syns just my wine.  I didn't want to stop drinking it, why should I especially with all the running and my Powerhoop classes.. So that's my confession. I was going to have a week of not drinking any of the red stuff but, Alan brought me a nice little bottle of Merlot so, I'm going to enjoy a glass or 3 of this tonight and not drink for the rest of the week.  It will be interesting to see if it makes any difference to my loss.

Today's food., Breakfast:  Fruit and yoghurt

Lunch:  Roast chicken Mug shot followed a Pomegranate, Tangerine and a Banana.

Dinner: Home made curry, made with chicken (85g per person) , spinach, potato, onion, tinned tomatoes, garlic, ginger along with Indian Spices. Served with Wholemeal rice and a Ryvita for a bit of crunch.

Monday

Here we are again, Monday!  Wow where did the weekend go, well I know where mine went. I spent  hours watching American ghost Story because I was feeling too bored and lazy to do anything else.  What a good programme it is, will be watching the rest of season 2 this weekend hopefully :-)

Not much to tell on the healthy eating / slimming world front. Still sticking to it and weigh in tomorrow will tell me if it's been worth it.

So today's food.

Breakfast: didn't have any, slept in after a weekend of late late nights.

Lunch: Batchelor's Mexican rice with boiled eggs.

Dinner: Quorn Sausages, 1.5 baked potato, beans and tinned toms. The potato had a sliced baby bell on them for added taste as I never add butter to the potatoes.  Yesterday's dinner was rather scrummy, pork fillet (85g), poached apple and pear, roast potato cooked with one cal spray, veg and gravy.  so so yummy.

Lots of fruit today

pooped!!

I didn't blog last night as I was feeling a tad under the weather.  I'm not sure if I was just really tired after  hoop the night before and  7.5 mile run / walk on Friday or what it was. I was just feeling pooped!!

Breakfast Fruit and yoghurt:

I've been feeling really hungry today so, I have had a couple of mugs of chicken Bovril, i wasn't sure if i'd like it or not but, it's really ok.

Tonight dinner is Spagetti Bolognese.  I will have small portion of meat and loads of pasta as it's a green day.

Thursday, 17 October 2013

ooops!!

 So here is my confession!

We had a staff meeting today,  ribs and chips were provided for lunch.  I started off with really good intentions declining the steaming hot chips which were covered with salt and vinegar, along with the tiny little ribs that were marinated in bbq sauce..I sat there with my mugshot and my tangerines and didn't eat the treasures that were right under my nose, well that was until I bought a parcel of uneaten chips and a tray of ribs home with me for the family. I just could not help myself the smell was just too much, I  just had to eat some, I  was hungry they were there and I really, really enjoyed them.    So today I have sinned big time..
I will have to work super hard at my Powerhoop class tonight with my very own Power Hoop, I wonder how many cals I will need to burn??

So I'm back from my class, it was a really good work out, lots of cardio work , abs (hate ab work as i find it so hard) and a lot of hooping.  Hopefully I've burnt off quite a few calories and the naughty stuff hopefully wont affect my weight loss for next week.

so today's food.

Breakfast:  fruit, yoghurt and a sprinkly of muesli.

Lunch: Snack pot, tangerine, chips and bbq ribs..

Dinner: Turkey burgers with potato things that had veg in them.

Sunday Sunday!

This weekend has been lovely, we went to see our son who lives in Sutton which, is about 80 miles from our house.   Thomas lives with his girlfriend in a basement flat in  London Borough of Sutton, Greater London, he moved there after finishing Uni and I miss him loads..
We went for lunch in a pub which is 5 minutes from his flat, there was roast on the menu so we all went for that .  I had 2 new potatoes, loads of lamb (didn't eat any of the fat on the meat) carrots, parsnips, peas and a little bit of cauliflower. £4.95 for a plate load of food was pretty good.

Sunday today and it's been a wet, cold and horrible day.  We have had a lovely day chilling, I  made some slimming world crisps and ate them as quick as I made them, so no pics.

Breakfast: Fruit and Yoghurt

Lunch today was Philadelphia with Salmon & Dill, smoked salmon, 2 Ryvita's and some cucumber.  The first time we  had the Salmon Philly was in NYC, we were on holiday there a while ago and had this combo on bagels.

My work colleagues have been asking me to make a cake for them, so I've made a carrot cake and it smells delicious, I hope they like it.

Dinner
Pulled pork with poached pear, butter bean sauce served with baked potato, broccoli carrots and crispy crackling. Delish!!

Friday, 11 October 2013

Work done!

Yayyy, another working week over.  What a good week it was too, someone actually said to me that I was looking slim, it made my day :-)

I have just  got back from a Powerhoop class and can honestly say that I really enjoyed it.  It's a fun class and Hooping is something I enjoy, I can't wait for next week ..In the mean time, I really must practice doing sit ups I really struggle with those and it's something we do in the class.

So todays food:

Breakfast: Fruit and Yoghurt.

Lunch:  Roasted  new potatoes with skins, tinned toms, baked beans, upside down fried egg, mushrooms and Quorn sausages.  It was my first time of eating the sausages and I really enjoyed them.  I can't believe this is Diet food, it was so so tasty.

Dinner:
I've not had any dinner, I'm really not hungry, not even slightly, so I may snack on some ryvita's later.

This weeks loss??

Weigh day again already, feeling positive I hopped on the scales waiting for the digital read out, breath held (morning breath it was too) I looked down to see that I had not lost a single bloody pound!!   I was a little disappointed  to say the least, I  have been so good for the last 7 days that I thought I would have lost something.  Yesterday for example, we went for a 7.5 mile run and burnt 619 calories and last Thursday a Powerhoop class oh and last Tuesday we went for a run oh and Sunday, I spent a couple of hours gardening. Surely I should have lost something. Oh well, perhaps all the hard work this week will pay of next week, fingers crossed.

Weight: 10 stone 2lbs

Todays food:
Breakfast same as always

Lunch (no pic)  Batchelors rice and a boiled egg

Dinner:  Wholemeal pasta with the tiniest amount of bolognese sauce, corn on the cob and some roast vegetables, very tasty dinner it was too

Monday, 7 October 2013

Dinner: 85g of cold meat, new potatoes, broccoli, cabbage stir fried with garlic and onion and also a  1/2 corn on the cob

Sunday, 6 October 2013

Is it good enough??

What a boring long day it could have been, but it wasn't.  You see, Alan was at a wedding fayre all day which just left me at home with the dogs.  I was going to pop and see Alan but decided that as it was a nice day I would cut the hedge and grass.  I had a great work out just trying to start the petrol mower, bloody thing kept cutting out on me.  The grass was so overgrown and took me a good hour and a half to cut it.  Whilst cutting it, I was rescuing little froglets, they were jumping all over the place, I'd like to say that i didn't kill any but they were very hard to see :-(

I have stuck to this diet / healthy eating but I'm losing weight very slowly, I wish I  could loose 2lbs a week instead of just a 1lb. I do wonder if we are following the Slimming World plan properly.  It's just that I see other people losing 2 - 3.5lb a week and I'm just loosing a  pound. I know a loss is good but is it good enough??

So today's food.

Had a lay in and did not have breakfast:

Lunch:  Cous Cous, mixed with tomatoes and pickled gherkin.. Sounds disgusting but I didn't know what else to have today and it did the job.

Dinner:  Chicken Stir Fry.

I've also eaten a muller light an Alpen light cereal bar and some fruit.

Saturday, 5 October 2013

Saturday night's alright!

Well it's the weekend, Saturday night is here and I'm sitting with my hubster and my dog watching a little bit of XFactor.  Yeah i know, I'm a saddo..but i don't care.
Today has been quite a good day, I'm no longer sore from Powerhoop and only have a couple of tiny bruises, all is good.

Red day today:

No breakfast again, i know I should but i honestly could not be bothered.

Snack:  Salami and Ham rolled up together and eaten, yum, yum, yum.

Lunch: Cold meat, 1/2 scotch egg  and Salad

Dinner:  Fish cakes made with potatoes that were baked in the oven, salmon, cod, smoked haddock and capers.  The fish cakes were predominately fish held together with a tiny bit of light mayo.
This was served with green beans and broccoli and roast tomatoes on the vine. I guess this could have been a green or red day dinner.  Either way it was yummy.

Slimming World recipes: Chicken katsu curry

Slimming World recipes: Chicken katsu curry: My favourite from Yo Sushi! A great low syn alternative Serves 4 2 on extra east For the chicken 4 skinless chicke...

What a horrid afternoon!!

Many have said that  doctors receptionists  are  grumpy, well have you ever wondered why?  I work as a Doctors receptionist and treat people how I like to be treated no matter who it is.  From time to time it's bloody hard to keep smiling when people verbally abuse you.  Today I had a patient who was filling his repeat request in the same area that people check in and make appts etc.  We have a table and chairs away from check  in so that we can speak to patients without others overhearing..
Any way, I politely asked the patient if he would mind moving to the table  as a patient was trying to ask me something personal, he moved without a fuss and sat at the table, he sat there for 5 minutes or so then, stood up and looked at me and shouted 'You have a bad attitude you fucking bitch' and stomped out of the surgery.. So the next time you think your receptionist at your surgery looks miserable and grumpy  give her / him the benefit of doubt because,  they may have been dealing with something similar.  Oh also if you have run out of meds,it's not her /  his fault either.. !!  I could rant on and on and on but wont..  don't want to sound like a grumpy receptionist..!!

Today food - Green Day

Breakfast:  two guesses..  yep same as every other morning since i started this blog

Lunch: Batchelors Mexican rice, 2 boiled eggs and some little cherry tomatoes, had to eat it at work in the staff meeting which was fine however, it was hard as there were iced donuts, muffins and other yummies supplied by the practice, I did not eat any of it.. Instead i finished with a banana and a handful of grapes..

Dinner:  A small amount of chicken breast, corn on the cob, 1/2 jacket potato along with roast courgette, sweet potatoes and onion.  Very nice indeed..

Drinks.. tea, coffee, 3 glasses of squash.  That is all for drinks, must drink more..

Tuesday, 1 October 2013

I've also had a banana today.

Drinks, well not many drinks today, too busy working!! 3 cups of tea, a large glass of flavoured water and a coffee..
